Journalism & Copywriting
I have written daily webcopy for a large multinational investment bank and features for the magazine of a UK FTSE 100 healthcare company. I produced the regular newsletter for our local kindergarten for three years and I’ve written direct mail copy and the weekly newsletter for a local gym. Currently I am working for the Heart Foundation, producing newsletters, developing online content and writing stories of people living with heart disease. See examples of my work here.
In 1999 I completed Certificate in Journalism from Whitireia Polytechnic, Wellington, New Zealand. Since then I have worked for a wide range of publications, latterly specialising in the areas of health and legal. Throughout my career I have written news, features, opinion pieces and profiles. I have commissioned and edited work for supplements and stepped up as acting news and features editors when needed. I am experienced both in print and online. See examples of my work here
Books and Stories
At heart I'm really just a girl who loves a good story. I love to read them and I love to write them. In 2014 I won the Joy Cowley for my children's book manuscript Stan the Van Man, which was published by Scholastic in August 2015. My second book Fizzy Pop was released in June 2016 and my third, The Wetter The Better, was published by Duck Creek Press at the end of 2016. You can find more information about my picture books here.
I also spent six years co-writing Munkie and Horrace, a photo-strip story in UK based magazine Anorak, which is distributed world wide.
